4th album by Canadian melodic hard rock act. A classic blend of hard edged
pop hooks and strong vocals.
Various members have worked with some of the biggest names in Canadian metal,
and shorty after decided to record as a band themselves.
Formed in 1990 in Toronto, Ontario by Michael Shotton (vocals and drums), Mladen
(guitar) and Matthew Gerrard (bass). Shotton and Gerrard were already a song
writing duo when Shotton met Mladen while working with Canadian classic rockers
TRIUMPH and asked him to join the band. They recorded a series of demos in
Gerrard's studio, which they labelled the "Lab". Initial response to their demos
was favorable and they were signed to A&M records and were sent to New Jersey to
tour and recut some of the demos for their self titled release. Former BAD
ENGLISH and HARDLINE drummer Deen Castronovo was brought in to lend his hand
behind the kit, but the majority of the "Lab" recordings remained as they were.
To this day the band still records their brand of power pop in Gerrard's home
studio.
Even though they lost their major label deal, the band continues to tour and
record. While the band is on hiatus the members branch out into other areas.
Currently Shotton is working with HONEYMOON SUITE, Mladen is working in 24K with
Phil Naro (of TALAS and BLOOD RED FLOWER). Gerrard and Mladen are both also
working with Canada's metal queen Lee Aaron. (from Hairbangers Radio site) |
